Liam with his favorite player Michael Del Zotto
Calling all hockey fans... Let's get Liam Traynor to Nashville March 8th!
Most Ranger fans already know about this special boy. Liam has Cerebral Palsy, but that in no way defines who he is. What he is, is a Rangers super fan, and loves the game of hockey.
Hockey fans around the world were introduced to Liam's story via HBO's 24/7 series that followed the Rangers and Flyers leading up to the Winter Classic 2 years ago.
Liam grew close to Coach Tortorella, and especially Rangers defenseman Michael Del Zotto. The pair had frequent visits, and stayed in close contact during the season. Liam and Del Zotto would trade text messages before and after games, with Liam wishing his best buddy luck!
A few days ago, Del Zotto was traded to the Nashville Predators, and the idea for this campaign was born.
This campaign was created with the intention of getting Liam and his family to Nashville, to see the Predators and his buddy Michael Del Zotto play. I looked at the schedule, and the Predators do not play a home game against the Rangers, or the Canucks (Coached by Tortorella) for the rest of the season. So the game selected is March 8th against the Columbus Blue Jackets, as they have several former Rangers on the roster!
This campaign will provide Liam and his family (Mom, Dad, Sister and Brother ) the financial assistance needed to cover costs of tickets to the game at the Bridgestone Arena, round trip airfare to Nashville, Hotel accomodations, and full size SUV car rental and other associated costs. Oh... and one last thing... it would also provide for a new Del Zotto Predators jersey for Liam!
I appreciate any help you can give to make this goal a reality. It would be an incredible experience for Liam and his family, and give Liam a chance to see his favorite player live in action again!
*I am hoping to be able to complete this goal by mid February, to allow enough time for travel accomodations to be made by Liam's family.
